What Is a CasiOak? The GA-2100 Explained
Short answer
“CasiOak” is the fan nickname for the octagonal G-SHOCK GA-2100: a slim analog-digital watch, launched in 2019, whose eight-sided bezel recalls far pricier luxury sports watches. It is a community nickname, not an official Casio name.
Where the nickname comes from
When the GA-2100 launched, its octagonal bezel immediately drew comparisons with iconic luxury sports watches. The community combined the two ideas into “CasiOak”, and the name stuck.
GA-2100 vs. GM-2100 vs. CasiOak metal mods
All three share the silhouette. The difference is material and weight.
- GA-2100 — resin bezel, the lightest and most casual: 51 g and 11.8 mm thick.
- GM-2100 — a stainless steel bezel for extra shine: 72 g, same 11.8 mm thickness and module 5611.
- CasiOak metal builds — custom angular cases and bracelets for a full-metal look; heavier than either stock model.
How to choose your colorway
Start with how you dress. Monochrome black, white or silver goes with everything; rainbow, camo and animated dials are statement pieces. Many collectors keep one neutral and one loud GA-2100 in rotation.
