How to Measure Your Wrist for a Watch (in 60 Seconds)

Short answer

Wrap a soft tape measure (or a strip of paper you then measure with a ruler) around your wrist just below the wrist bone. That number is your wrist size. Under about 6.5 in (16.5 cm) suits slimmer cases like the GA-2100, DW-5600 or Baby-G; larger wrists can wear any model, including the GA-700 and GW-6900.

Step by step

You only need a tape measure, or a strip of paper and a ruler.

  • Wrap the tape just below the wrist bone, where a watch sits.
  • Keep it snug but not tight.
  • Read the measurement where the tape overlaps (or mark the paper and measure it flat).
  • Add about 0.5 in (1 cm) if you prefer a looser fit.

Size chart

Use this as a guide — personal preference matters more than any chart.

  • Under 6 in (15 cm): Baby-G, DW-5600, GA-2100.
  • 6–7 in (15–18 cm): GA-2100, GM-2100, DW-5600, GMW-B5000, GW-6900.
  • Over 7 in (18 cm): every model, including the GA-700 and GW-6900.
